Genealogy Room at Fincastle

A special room at the Fincastle Library is dedicated to genealogical research. The collections include family history books, Virginia County books, cemetery information and books on Virginia history. Files of loose materials are included in addition to the book collections. A computer with family tree software is available on which people may add information about their families for viewing by other researchers. A microfilm scanner is also available to view the old newspaper from the town of Buchanan, Virginia as well as other microfilms. Classes about genealogical research are periodically offered at the libraries.
Local History Room at Eagle Rock

A special room at the Eagle Rock Library is dedicated to local history, where you can find pamphlets, yearbooks, genealogical resources, and more. Two computers are available in the room for research.

Botetourt County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office
Contains collections of primary source materials related to county history including marriage records from 1770 to the present, deeds and other land transactions, probate records, and many other resources.
